ProJoint™ High Performance SBR

To ensure you achieve the best possible outcome for your paving project we recommend that you use an SBR.

ProJointTM High Performance SBR is a water-based emulsion of a modified styrene-butadiene polymer and have been designed to improve the strength and workability of sand and cement mortar, however it can also be used for priming the surface of natural stone or cement slabs or setts to promote adhesion.

With non-foaming properties the SBR controls the density of the mortar and results in a significant increase in compressive, tensile and flexural strength. Using the ProJointTM High Performance SBR will give reassurance that paving will be securely bedded with additional benefits such as an excellent freeze:thaw resistance and mortar durability.

Description

  • High solids content of over 45%
  • Excellent freeze:thaw resistance
  • Improves strength and workability or mortar
  • Promotes adhesion of natural stone and concrete paving to substrates – can be used as a primer

ProJointTM High Performance SBR can be applied neat to the underside of paving substrates as a primer and adhesion promoter.  Please note that SBR is not recommended for use as a primer for porcelain paving; for this application use ProJointTM Porcelain Primer.

Protective gloves (made of PVC) together with eye protection should be worn when using this product.

Add the SBR liquid into the cement whilst mixing. The addition rate depends on the application – as a guide, a typical addition is 200ml per 1kg of cement. Please note that this addition will reduce the amount of water needed in the mix, and will also reduce the pot life of the mixed mortar.
